Dr. Peter Hell

Dr Peter Hell is passionate about his work and the PH Prosthodontics philosophy of assisting patients to achieve functional teeth and smiles for as long as required no matter what challenges the past might have brought. An instigator of routine assessment of dental anxiety, Dr Hell believes strongly in making patients as comfortable as they would like to achieve their desired outcomes.

With broad international experience, Dr Hell has been in dental practice for nearly 30 years. He has practiced in the UK, where he undertook postgraduate restorative training at the renowned Eastman Dental Hospital, then worked in Vietnam and New Zealand before emigrating to Australia in 2004 to train as a specialist prosthodontist in Sydney.

Dr Hell has developed a rare understanding of both the potential of traditional prosthodontic techniques and the value of the latest methods and materials.  Treatment may involve a range of modalities from minimal intervention preventative strategies to enable long-term function through to high-end cosmetically optimal reconstructions. Beautifully restored teeth display the teamwork of clinical excellence and the artistry of talented ceramists with whom Dr’s Hell and Hotinski have strong relationships.

Dr Hell has a particular interest in dental implant surgery, with a focus on surgery planned and executed to provide predictable, maintainable foundations for beautiful, functional replacement teeth. With a research interest in long term outcomes on full jaw implant supported teeth Dr Hell has an excellent understanding of risk factors and how to help his patients achieve success.

Dr Hell is active in the dental profession and is a regular invited speaker at dental meetings both locally and interstate. He is a former President of the Australian Prosthodontic Society (South Australian Branch) and has current membership with the International Team for Implantology, Australian Dental Association, Australasian Osseointegration Society, and the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Prosthodontists. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.

Dr Hell is married and enjoys spending his time out with his wife Gretchen, daughter Mirella and four sons Max, Sebastian, Harry, and Freddie. Peter’s interests apart from his family and prosthodontics include cycling, photography and travel.
